Auto Bidding: a quick tour

Film 5 of 6 · 2:30

A tour of the Auto Bidding tab: what each auto-bid card shows (your ceiling, the current and next bid, the countdown and what GhostNode does next), the views and filters, what needs you and how to fix it on the card, raising a ceiling in place, bid chains on the cards, and starting a new auto-bid on eBay, ShopGoodwill, HiBid or BestBid.

Transcript

0:00Auto Bidding, a quick tour. Every auto-bid says what it will do, and what it needs from you.

0:08The header counts what's live, what needs you and what you're winning, and how long until the next close. Below it, one line shows your plan: auto-bids running, wins this month and bids today.

0:21Live, Chains and Finished each have their own view. Filter by status, or search titles, lots and marketplaces. The counts follow your search.

0:32Whatever you need to fix comes first, with the fix right on the card: raise a ceiling that's below the next bid, register for the auction, re-arm a stopped auto-bid, or connect your account.

0:45Each card shows your ceiling, the current bid, the next bid and the countdown, how much room is left under your ceiling, and one line that says what GhostNode does next. Here, it answers in the last 8 seconds, up to $450.

1:02Raise a ceiling right on the card. The new number shows at once, and when the card moves to its new place, the page follows it.

1:12Lots in a bid chain say so. This one waits for its chain: it bids only once the lot it waits for is won. That one was switched off by its chain. It won't bid, so its clock goes grey.

1:26The Chains view explains each kind of chain case by case, with photos. Win the laptop, and GhostNode bids on the extras. Lose it, and they get no bid. Your own chains read the same way, with every case spelled out. And New chain asks a few plain questions, then shows both cases with your own lots before you save.

1:50Finished shows how every lot ended: won, and how far under your ceiling, or lost, and by how much.

1:58Start a new one: pick the marketplace the lot is on. Each shows what's live there and whether its account is connected. Every form asks the same few things, in the same words: the lot, your ceiling, and when to bid.

2:13It reads the same on your phone and in daylight, and it keeps still when your system asks for less motion.

2:22Auto Bidding. Know what every auto-bid will do, before it does it.

The lots in the films are examples. The console is GhostNode's own, as customers see it.
