ShopGoodwill Sniper Tools Compared (2026)

Updated · 3 min read · by the GhostNode team · data as of

Short answer

Several tools can bid on ShopGoodwill for you. BidPulse ($13-$49 a month) and AuctionBotPro ($10 for 10 credits) run in the cloud; ShopGoodwill Sniper is a desktop app with a 2% success fee; free open-source scripts exist if you can run them. GhostNode auto-bids on ShopGoodwill on every plan, including its free one, and also searches and bids on other marketplaces.

Disclosure: we make GhostNode. Competitors' facts come from their own pages, read on October 11, 2026.

ShopGoodwill sells donated goods from Goodwill organizations across the United States, and most of its lots end in a short evening window: in GhostNode's data, 79.3% of lots closed between 6 pm and 9 pm Pacific (see the report). That concentration is why ShopGoodwill buyers look for tools that bid for them.

How GhostNode handles ShopGoodwill

  • Two ways to bid. GhostNode can raise your bid one step at a time, or place your maximum and let ShopGoodwill's own proxy bidding hold it. You choose per lot, and separately choose when bidding begins.
  • A hard ceiling. GhostNode never sends a bid above the maximum you set.
  • Finding lots. Keyword searches run on ShopGoodwill all day; GhostNode can also search item descriptions, which finds lots with vague titles (see the ShopGoodwill guide).
  • One list for every marketplace. The same Watch list and the same bid chains work for ShopGoodwill, eBay, HiBid and BestBid.

Which one to choose

  • Only ShopGoodwill, a few lots a month: the free proxy bid, or a pay-per-use tool such as AuctionBotPro credits.
  • Only ShopGoodwill, many lots: compare BidPulse's monthly plans with GhostNode's; note BidPulse counts lost snipes.
  • ShopGoodwill plus eBay, HiBid or BestBid: GhostNode, because it is the one tool here that also bids elsewhere and searches for lots.

Before connecting any tool to your ShopGoodwill account

  1. Know where your login goes. A desktop app keeps it on your computer; cloud tools store it on their servers. Ask how, and how to remove it.
  2. Read ShopGoodwill's terms. They prohibit automated tools ShopGoodwill has not authorized. You are responsible for your account.
  3. Price the whole lot. Shipping and handling are often the real cost on ShopGoodwill; set your maximum from the landed cost.

Frequently asked questions

Does ShopGoodwill allow sniping?

ShopGoodwill's own blog says expert bidders often practise sniping, and its help pages warn that a bid placed in the last second may not process in time. Its terms of use prohibit automated tools it has not authorized, so read them before connecting any third-party bidder.

Does ShopGoodwill have proxy bidding?

Yes. You can enter a maximum and ShopGoodwill bids for you up to it. That is the free alternative to any sniper: place your true maximum, ideally late, and let the proxy hold it.

How do I get alerts for new ShopGoodwill listings?

ShopGoodwill's Personal Shopper emails you when new items match a saved search. GhostNode runs keyword searches on ShopGoodwill around the clock and keeps every match, with its price and closing time, in one list.
