How mac.bid auctions work
- Every lot starts at $1 with no reserve.
- Max Bid is a proxy bid: mac.bid bids for you up to your maximum (proxy bidding). There are no ties: the bid received first wins.
- The 2-minute rule. A higher bid with less than 2 minutes left resets the clock to 2 minutes, again and again while bidding continues (soft close).
- Evening closes. mac.bid says lots close at 6:00 PM Eastern or later.

What a mac.bid win costs
As published in October 2026:
| Cost | On mac.bid |
|---|---|
| Buyer's premium | 15% |
| Lot fee | $3 per item |
| Sales tax | Added at checkout |
| Buyers Assurance | Optional |
| Pickup | Within 3 business days, or the item counts as abandoned with no refund |
