BestBid (Iraq) Auctions: How Bidding Works and How to Auto-Bid
BestBid (bestbid.tech) is an Iraqi online auction marketplace priced in US dollars. Bids are flat: the site records exactly what you submit, so there is no hidden maximum. A bid in a lot's last minutes pushes its end about 5 minutes past that bid, and the site shows a 5% fee on the bid. GhostNode can bid on BestBid for you, one minimum step at a time in the closing window, up to your ceiling.
BestBid (bestbid.tech) is an online auction marketplace in Iraq. Lots are priced in US dollars and sold in timed auctions on the site. GhostNode's notes below come from using BestBid directly (September 2026); BestBid can change its rules at any time, so check a lot's own terms.
How BestBid bidding works
- Flat bids, no hidden maximum. The site records exactly the amount you submit. There is no proxy bidding: if you bid your maximum, everyone sees it immediately. The next legal bid is always the current price plus the lot's increment.
- Soft close. A bid in a lot's final minutes moves its end to about 5 minutes after that bid, so a lot keeps extending while people keep bidding (soft close).
- A fee on the bid. The site's bidding dialog shows a 5% auction fee on the bid amount.
- Lots disappear after the close. Shortly after a lot ends, its page stops being available, so check results quickly.
How to bid well on BestBid
- Never enter your maximum as a bid. With flat bids, that tells every rival your limit. Bid the minimum needed to lead.
- Bid late, in steps. Because each late bid adds about 5 minutes, the lot is won by whoever is still there when the bidding stops. Bidding early only raises the price while more rivals are watching.
- Count the fee. Add 5% to your bid when you work out what a lot costs you (landed cost).

Frequently asked questions
Does BestBid have proxy (maximum) bidding?
No. A BestBid bid is recorded exactly as you submit it, and the next legal bid is the current price plus the increment. Entering your maximum as a bid shows it to everyone at once.
Does sniping work on BestBid?
A bid in a lot's final minutes extends it by about 5 minutes, so a late bid cannot win by surprise. Bidding late still helps: it keeps the price low and wins against bidders who are no longer watching.
Can GhostNode bid on BestBid for me?
Yes. Connect your BestBid account in GhostNode's Connections, set a ceiling, and GhostNode bids the next minimum in the closing window whenever you are outbid, until the lot ends or the next minimum would pass your ceiling.
